$1 million Challenge goes out to the online poker world

To be known as one of the best if not the best online poker player in the world is a title most pro players covet. But to be considered as the best at the tender age of 22 is a feat in itself. The young man that is held in such esteem is one Tom Dwan, believing in his own ability he is a force to be reckoned with.

Well known for his aggressive play and never being afraid to ‘mix it up’ at the tables, while seemingly calm, even with sky-high stakes. It is no wonder then that he has put forward the challenge to online poker players of $1 million dollars.

According to Dwan he has put up this $1 million challenge to prove he is the best online player in cyberspace. He was quoted as saying “Anyone can accept. Four tables minimum of $200/$400, I’ll put up $1.5 million to their $500,000. So basically, if you and I played and you won by a dollar, you would get my $1.5million and if i won by a dollar I would win your $500,000.”

Dwan did however lay out more rules for the event in a post on “2+2” forums stating:

  • A player can Change to another table at anytime if their chip stacks are greater than 250 big blinds.

  • A player must reload when their chip stacks fall below 75 big blinds

  • Money won during the matches will be kept by that player plus the bonus wager.

  • The same stakes will be played the entire time.

As well as this Dwan also made one exception to anyone can accept, Phil ‘OMGClayAiken’ Galfond his good friend was said to be not allowed to participate.

Phil Ivey, Patrick Antonius and David Benyamine have already accepted the challenge.
