888 Announced deal with ID Verification Firm
17th April, 2009
Online gaming is available to anyone with an internet connection, however operators must constantly strive to ensure their players are over the age of 18 and legitimate to gamble at the site.
888 have taken another step towards improving their player identification system by signing up to 192 Business. This service will allow 888 to verify the age and ensure the transfers are legitimate.
Ruth Tanami, director of responsible gaming at 888 said in a statement, “Player verification enables us to go into new markets safely and responsibly.”
“It not only minimises paper-based player identity checking that impairs the customer experience, but maintains our commitment to being a socially responsible operator by preventing underage players accessing our gaming sites,” she added.
Corporate Responsibility in Gambling is extremely important as it is an industry which is often put under intense scrutiny. The 192 Business system is currently being used by several other gaming operators including PKR and Party Gaming.
