Affiliates allowed to bid for Google Adwords
9th January, 2009
Online search engine giant, Google have recently announced the news that they will now allow UK affiliates to bid on Adwords. The move comes only a few months after Google allowed gambling operators to buy Adwords.
PCC advertising has quickly grown in popularity with online advertisers, who are looking to rank high on the hugely popular search engine Google. UK affiliates will be looking to pay for popular search terms in a bid to increase traffic figures.
Affiliates however will not be able to bid on operator terms such as, Gala Bingo or Bet365.
The news will be greeted by many in the online gambling sector at a time when the economic crisis is still affecting player numbers and net gaming revenues.
Chief executive Nicky Senyard said: “We are offering our partners an exclusive opportunity to capitalize on the Adwords for gaming in the UK. Through our Affiliate Custom Tracking tools, UK gambling affiliates will be able to track their referrals right from when they acquire them via Adwords.”
Affiliate management firm Income Access have created specialized tracking for their clients to use, allowing them to access information on players and the Adwords used.
