Alberto Contador favourite to win Tour de France
20th July, 2009
Bookies have decided that Alberto Contador is almost a definite to win the Tour de France. After a great race it seems that Contador is expected to comfortably win with Lance Armstrong fighting hard for second place.
This will not be Contador’s first victory after winning the race in 2007 and this could be a second chance for him to win the title again. Bookies are rapidly shortening his odds, with the shortest at 1/25 but others backing him at 1/9 with Bet365 or 1/10 with Coral.
Bookies don’t seem so confident for who is going to take the title for second place with Lance Armstrong and Andy Schleck battling it out. Whilst Armstrong has been second favourite from the start bookies have begun to lengthen his odds putting him behing Andy Schleck. Boylesport are offering 20/1 for Armstrong and Schleck closely in front at 18/1 with SkyBet.
