Betfair bookies sign yet another football deal!

Betfair has been hitting the headlines in the sportsbook industry recently with several deals that it has signed and once again they hit the headlines, this time having just signed with Champions League winners FC Barcelona.
The British bookmakers is the Spanish football clubs official betting partner despite having signed to be Manchester United’s just three weeks ago, it looks as though Betfair has their work cut out for them! Betfair have concentrated their efforts on cricket and horseracing and have not focused on sponsoring football since back in 2003, when they signed a one-year deal with Fulham FC.
The details of the recent contract with Barcelona FC includes perks such as betting content delivered through the clubs website as well as having their brand exposed across the home ground stadium. In addition, whilst Betfair continues to receive benefits from the deal including tickets and training ground access, the club also receive rewards to the signing such as exclusive offers and promotions from the betting exchange themselves.
Betfair’s Director Andy May explained that, “This sponsorship agreement between ourselves and Barcelona aligns us with the most charismatic and thriving club in Europe. The Catalan club’s successes are similar to the trajectory Betfair has taken in recent years.”
It appears that Betfair are beginning to take the football industry by storm and with World Cup fast approaching, the British bookies may be able to take full advantage of the football betting frenzy that has been predicted!
