Betfair to Sponsor Sandown Racecourse

Betfair sign new sponsorship deal The Melbourne racing club in Australia has announced a new sponsorship deal with online betting exchange site, Betfair. The UK based firm have signed an agreement which will see the race course named Betfair Park instead of its current name Sandown Racecourse.

Numerous brand signs will also appear throughout the course and a promotional offers will also be available through Betfair, for punters. Betfair has grown in popularity over the past few years and now has thousands of customers all over the globe.

The site allows players to bet against each other in stead of against a bookie, a concept which has proved extremely popular with users.

Warren Brown, Chief Executive Officer for Melbourne Racing Club said in a statement, “In establishing this new relationship with Betfair, we fully acknowledge and respect both Tabcorp and the current wagering model.”

“The TAB since its privatization has been the financial backbone of the Victorian racing industry and will so remain. But, this sponsorship arrangement recognizes the additional revenue opportunities for racing by embracing technology and innovation."
