Big Brother: Sophie in with a chance to win

20th July, 2009

Despite last night’s Big Brother show only attracting 2.12million where as the equivalent show from this time last year managed to steel 2.97 million viewers, representing a decline of 29%, it has been a very exciting weekend in the house. Karly was evicted on Friday allowing bookies to shorten her best mate Sophie’s odds. The glamour model was favourite to be evicted and channel 4 revealed that she received 50.4% of the total votes.

Sophie's odds has shortened dramatically making her joint third favourite to win Big Brother with Paddy Power backing her at 8/1. Paddy Power is also offering refunds on all loosing stakes if they finish second. It has taken a while for the public to take an interest in her but she is now alongside Charlie who has been third favourite for a while now. With the new housemates entering the house this weekend this could be an opportunity for the public to come to love Sophie as she appears to grow more confidence, or in contrast could start to find her irritating if she keeps talking and worrying about Kris who was evicted last week.

It is not surprising that Freddie is still favourite to win and is available at 15/8 with Bet365. Siavash is still second favourite being backed by online bookies Paddy Power and Bet365 at 3/1.

The only prediction available by bookies that helps to decided who is next to go is by looking at the least favourite housemate which is Lisa with odds as long as 100/1 with Paddy Power but this depends on whether the house decide to put her up. With the new housemates having a secret task to get Freddie and Noirin nominated if no one else is put up for the public vote, bookies would tell us that Noirin is favourite to go, especially as she is becoming very unpopular amongst other housemates. We will have to wait until Wednesday to find out more!
