Bingo Birthday for 103 year old

Arguments discussed in our previous article Bingo keeps you young about how playing bingo keeps the mind active thus peeling away the years has actually been proven!

Members of a Liverpudlian Mecca Bingo hall Sally Melia a birthday party to celebrate her 103rd birthday party and 45 years of being an avid bingo player at the club, Sally is now the oldest member who plays there.

Steve Linder, the manager of her local bingo hall said of Sally, “Sally is as fit as a fiddle and is more active than some people 30 years her junior, she is the queen of this bingo hall and deserves to be treated like Royalty!”

Sally was born in 1906 and has now been retired for the past 38 years after working at the Royal Ordnance factory and as a cook at a local school.

When Sally was asked about her weekly trip to Knotty Ash bingo hall she said, “I don’t know what I’d do if I could not get down to the bingo, it keeps me active and you meet lovely people. One of these days I’m sure I will land the big jackpot!”

Lovely stories like these refresh the urge to stop bingo halls closing and to join campaigns such as I’m backing bingo as discussed in our article Mecca continues to back bingo
