Bodog Sponsors Tiger Woods
17th May, 2010

Despite losing huge endorsement deals due to his wayward affairs and being forced into a cringe worthy public apology, it seems that Tiger Woods still has some pulling power when it comes to advertising!
Online gaming operator Bodog is offering the Golf supreme a $100million five year sponsorship deal which has a revolutionary no strings attached clause.
Before his life publicly fell apart previous sponsorship deals included: AT&T, Accenture, Gatorade, Gillete and Tag Heuer earning him over $100m (£65m) per year who have all since severed ties.
Both Bodog and Paddy power approached Tiger’s agent, Mark Steinberg, but Paddy Power’s offer was turned down. Bodog has tailored the sponsorship deal to include ‘no moral conditions’.
‘BodogBrand feel they are the only ones who can extend a deal that will be totally unaffected by any non-golf related activity. We actively encourage and endorse employees and customers alike to “Play Hard”,’ said BodogBrand founder Calvin Ayre.
He added: ‘The Deal? Whatever it takes! BodogBrand is happy to sponsor and help Tiger get back to his best by any means necessary.’
‘To be clear, Bodog Brand is not telling Tiger “all is forgiven”. In Bodog Brand’s eyes, there is nothing to forgive,’ said Ayre.
Woods has also suffered claims that he has taken prescription drugs to boost performance with his alleged mistresses.
But Ayre isn’t phased. He added: ‘On the road to recovery people take all sorts of different pain killers, therapy, drugs – who is to say which are legal and which are not.
Surely, all medicine is “performance enhancing”– that’s what medicine is for!
‘Every single drug, be it for a headache, sexual performance, legal “hyperbaric chambers” regularly used by athletes, or indeed laser eye surgery.
‘Woods has had corrective surgery to improve his vision which he freely admits helps his game, similarly Mark McGwire uses contact lenses and there can be no doubt that vision is all important in baseball and, therefore, should it not be illegal?
‘BodogBrand believes you should do whatever it takes to be World Number 1 and will back Tiger Woods to the tune of $100,000,000 to do just that no matter what allegations – substantiated or otherwise – appear during the five-year deal.’
