Bookies hold bets on whether God exists
5th November, 2008
Many people think of online bookies as places to wager money only on sporting events, such as football, horse racing and Greyhound racing.
However many also allow bets on future predictions, TV shows, political elections and well.... almost anything!
One question dying to be answered is, "Does a God exist?" Several traditional religious beliefs clam that a God created the world, created the human race and is all powerful.
The two largest religions in the world Christianity and Islam both believe in God, however their has still been no scientific proof that he/she exists.
So until its proven bookies around the world have odds priced on whether the a God exists. Irish betting company Paddy Power have collects £5,000 in bets regarding this subject.
Before the controversial "Their probably is no God" Bus campaign designed by Richard Dawkins, odds on a God existing were a decent 33-1. However now the campaign has resulted in the odds being cut to only 4-1.
A Paddy Power spokesman said: “The atheists’ planned advertising campaign seems to have renewed the debate in pubs and around office water-coolers as to whether there is a God and we’ve seen some of that being transferred into bets. However we advise anyone still not sure of God’s existence to maybe hedge their bets for now, just in case.”
So are you an Atheists or Religious? Do you have a way of proving God exists, well I recommend you place those bets! For more betting odds and events visit our online betting alerts site.
