Bookmakers may have to up contributions
23rd November, 2007
The chairman on the BHA, Paul Roy says that what they pay at the monent is too low and that bookmakers need to increase the £85 million payments they currently make.
He will claim that the betting industry refuses to adopt a reasonable position and that they could have avoided this situation by being more flexible in their attitudes.
Roy will also state that the industry has the means to pay a lot more than they do.
