Boxing: Haye confirms he will be fighting Russian Valuev

The former world cruiserweight champion David Haye has just confirmed his next fight will be against the Russian Nikolay Valuev for the chance for him to gain the title of World Heavyweight title after reports of him fighting Vitali Klitschko.

David Haye will take on the 7ft 2in Russian that comes in at 9 inches taller and 8 stone heavier than him. Despite this disadvantage Sky Bet are still making Haye the favourite with odds of 1/2 against Valuev who is 6/4.

Scott Springgay, Sky Bet’s boxing expert explained, “Despite the obvious height and weight disadvantage here, the boxing skills and speed that will determine the winner of this fight belong to the classier Haye”.

Sky Bet are backing Haye at 7/2 to beat Valuev in 12 rounds ad Valuev is backed at 11/2 to beat Haye without going the full distance.
