British and Irish Lions Online Betting Preview

Following their latest win the British and Irish Lions have made the best possible start to their test campaign. Last night the Lions took on an extremely physical Southern Kings side, who at times seemed more intent on roughing up the Lions than playing rugby.

Despite losing players through injury during last night’s game the Lions won their sixth consecutive match, and will go into Saturday’s first test against South Africa full of confidence.

Online Bookmakers still price the Lions as underdogs against the Springboks though, with Coral, Blue Square and BetFred all making the Boks 4/11 favourites, while Sky Bet and Bet Internet price the Lions at 2/1.

The Lions test team to face the Springboks on Saturday has not yet been announced, however with a very confrontational game expected, head coach Ian McGeechan is expected to pick his largest and most powerful players.

With the game just three days away online bookies have also opened other betting markets including, first/last try scorer, First/Second Half scores and first/last team scores. Not surprisingly, former World Player of the Year Brian Habana is favourite among most markets.
