Casino plans approved in Norfolk
20th February, 2009
It has emerged that the revised plans to build a £35million casino in Norfolk have been approved by the Borough Council.
The initial proposal for a casino in South Denes in Great Yarmouth was met with opposition from English Heritage. English Heritage had claimed that the casino car park would intrude on the nearby Nelson Monument.
However, the plans for the cark park were revised and everyone has agreed to the proposal.
The proposal is one of three separate proposals for a casino in Great Yarmouth and only one will receive a government license.
It is thought that a new casino in the area could create as many as 1,000 new jobs
