David Beckham to transfer?

Italian giants, A.C Milan have denied reports that they are to permanently acquire the services of former England captain, David Beckham, from the Los Angeles Galaxy. In spite of this, it doesn’t stop the odds pouring in from Paddy Power, with odds for a transfer to A.C Milan in at 4/7.

Beckham, who spent the second half of last season on loan at the Rossoneri, became an instant hit with his passing ability and hard work rate. The 34 year old midfielder is desperate to represent his country in next year’s World Cup finals in South Africa.

England boss, Fabio Capello, has previously stated that Beckham needs to be performing well in one of Europe’s elite leagues to have any chance of featuring for his country.

Many observers within the world of football are predicting that due to Milan’s financial difficulties they will be eager to repeat last year’s loan spell. Reports from the BBC have stated that A.C Milan president Adriano Galliani believes that: "The most likely hypothesis is that Beckham plays for us from January until the end of the season."

Beckham has had a troubled return to the United States, as he received a hostile reception from certain sectors of the crowd in his first game back, which was ironically against Milan. There has been speculation about Beckham leaving Los Angeles before his contract expires, because of the harsh criticism he has received.

If a move to Milan does not materialise, Beckham has been linked with a return to the English Premier League. Odds for a move to Tottenham Hotspur are in at 9/1 with Chelsea at 10/3, as both clubs are thought to be after his signature. A transfer to Chelsea would see Beckham reunited with former A.C Milan manager, Carlo Ancelotti.
