Dragonfish And Bwin Sign Italian Casino Deal

According to eGaming Review, Bwin Italia has signed a deal with 888’s B2B arm, Dragonfish, for casino making this Dragonfish’s first step into the lucrative Italian market.

The deal will see Dragonfish supplying in-house and third party developed download and flash games which includes classic and video slot, video poker and table games.

Bwin general director of activities in Italy Paolo Di Feo said: "We believe 888 is a top brand and Dragonfish will be able to capitalise on the experience they have and help us in offering our clients a very strong and secure entertainment line-up."

Italy began regulating online gambling back in 2007 and is adding to the amount of games that are authorized in the country, making it the biggest online gambling market in Europe.

Bwin’s Ongame Network launched an Italian Poker Network last week with five million players which was fronted by Gioco Digitale who Bwin acquired in September 2009 and which pools liquidity from BetPro.it, Bwin, Casino di Venezia, Fast Poker, Gioco Digitale, Gmatica and Sportingbet.it.

Other big players that are boosting their presence in Italy include Microgaming, which announced that it was launching an Italian poker network last week. This is in addition to near namesake Microgame, who signed a deal in January to incorporate virtual sports games into its People’s Network, which is the biggest online player community in Italy.
