Drugs caused gambling debts
1st November, 2007
In France, Didier Jambart, 47 is demanding €400K in compensation after he lost €130K gambling. he claims he tried to kill himself on numerous occassions after he began losing €10K a month following an increase in the dosage of his medication.
It has been ruled that the company which made the drug he was given will pay 80% of his costs. The neurologist who treated him will have to fork over the other 20%. The sum to be awarded will be fixed next month.
This groundbreaking decision will potentially open the floodgates for other people who acted differently and detrimentally to themselves following the prescribing of medication.
