England Ashes Triumph at Lords, Will It Continue?
21st July, 2009

England captain Andrew Strauss has admitted that he cannot let complacency into the camp after the hosts managed to secure their first Ashes victory over Australia at Lord’s in 75 years.
Ricky Ponting’s troops have been wounded but will come out fighting ahead of the third test at Edgbaston, which begins on Thursday 30th July. For the Aussies, It will be unthinkable for them to go 2-0 down and face the prospect of a back to back Ashes series defeat against the old enemy in their back yard.
England will be searching for another well balanced performance and hope that their bowlers especially Flintoff and Anderson maintain the aggressive consistency that saw them rip through the well respected Australian batting line up.
Strauss will be praying that the England medical team will keep the injury prone Flintoff fit and healthy after his dazzling performance at the home of Cricket. The Lancashire all-rounder produced a maiden five-wicket haul, but will aim to set more personal records before his glittering test career finishes at the end of the summer.
With the bat England will be aiming to set high totals and will need the middle order, which is the engine room of any innings to produce more runs and demoralise the Aussie attack. Again the English opening pair will look to lay solid foundations just like they did in the first innings of the second test and send out a message of intent.
Online betting odds from Bet365 show that England are 13/5 to win, while Australia is 13/8. The odds for a draw is 7/5
