Farnood wins WSOPE HORSE event

Farnood wins WSOPE HORSE event Most people were putting their money on the two biggest names remaining at the final table of the second event of the World Series of Poker, a £2,500 buy in HORSE tournament. Of course it would be a good bet to put all the money on Phil Ivey or Howard Lederer to take it down, especially with Lederer had the chip lead, but it would have come out a losing one after the day was through.

Ivey ended up going out of the tournament in sixth and Lederer hung around to drop out in third and after it was all said and done it was Sherkhan Farnood who ultimately won the gruelling tournament. For coming in first and outlasting the tournament field, Farnood was awarded the coveted WSOP gold bracelet along with the £76,999 first place prize.

Now everyone has focused their attention on the third WSOPE event, the £5,000 second chance pot limit Omaha tournament, which began with 165 players and is now down to 45. Farnood was actually multi tabling during the final table of the HORSE event and manage to make it to day two of the Omaha tournament, but is currently last in chips.

Some of the big names left in the Omaha event include Phil Laak, Doyle Brunson and Chris Ferguson. Phil Hellmuth and Mike “The Mouth” Matusow have both made early exits and will now prepare for the series’ main event, which begins on Saturday, the 27th of September.

The WSOPE main event is a £10,000 buy in tournament that awarded £1,000,000 to its winner during the inaugural year of the event, which was 2007.
