French eGaming market to be worth 1.7 Billion by 2015

A report conducted by the consulting firm MECN and specialists in Law ‘Ulys’ predicts that through the liberalisation of French online betting and online poker, the French eGaming industry could grow in value to €1.7 billion by 2015.
This gives French operators reason to be excited as the legalization is set to make French eGaming markets live by sometime next year and could provide some healthy business for French operators.
Consulting firm MECN revealed that the liberalization is set to go live next summer and plans to open up interactive & online sports betting in addition to online poker.
The report that MECN carried out revealed that over two thirds of operators questioned stated that they have an interest in the French market for their future business and over 80% of those surveyed responded saying that they consider the French market to be relevant or very relevant to their future business.
The report predicts that the success of online sportsbetting and poker is set to surpass the success seen in the Italian market.
