The Canadian Gaming Association have released a report showing that gambling is Canada's top past time this week.
The reports states that gambling is "Canada's largest and most financially significant entertainment industry" boasting the provision of over 260,000 jobs and adding about $15.3billion to the Canadian economy every year.
Press reports have deemed this as the most detailed and comprehensive study of its type ever done.
The report does not specify the role that online gaming has played in the past time. Online Bingo is a niche market in Canada at present but, along with the rest of the industry, it is growing fairly rapidly.
Bill Rutsey, the Canadian Gaming Association president, said "Gaming has grown significantly over the past decade to become an essential pillar of the entertainment industry".
