Gaming Alerts Do Poker in the Park 2009.
17th August, 2009
Last Friday the Gaming Alerts team took a trip to Leicester square to see what all of the fuss was about with Poker in the Park 2009.
After leaving the office, we got there about 1pm to a swarm of crowds and tents full of poker enthusiasts at the free event.
We got the chance to speak to Derek Webb about his brand new poker concept, PTG Poker and found out all about the ‘fairer way to play’ allowing novices not to lose out so often to the big guns on the poker table.
In addition to this, we spoke to the top man at Littlewoods Poker, Bruce, who told us all about the benefits of being at the event and why he brought celebrity poker player Michael Greco to the square to offer tuition for the much loved game.
Headline sponsors, PKR, we’re manic in their ‘Poker Dome’ with hundreds of people both inside and outside of the tent, reporting their busiest year yet at the event.
We asked members of the public what they thought of the event and they particularly pointed out the benefits of the lecture tent where they could learn more about the game and ways to play.
Of course what poker event would be the same without some of the prettiest girls in the industry; multiple masseuses’s made sure that those playing poker we’re relieved of stress, in addition to empire casino girls walking around in fabulous pink head dresses and the girls from nuts magazine taking photos and signing the latest edition of the lads mag.
We thoroughly enjoyed the event and look forward to going back next year!
