It's Pacman's turn to settle up

27th May, 2008

The district attorney for Las Vegas announced that Adam “Pacman” Jones paid his $20,000 debt to Caesars Palace after court documents were filed for a felony arrest warrant.

Jones paid a sum that totalled $21,675, which included a penalty and a DA’s office processing fee, for three casino markers from 3 September at Caesars Palace. One day after the documents were filed with the court Jones paid off the debt and made good on the markers he had received

“We filed a criminal complaint,” said David Roger, Clark County district attorney. “Within 24 hours, Mr. Jones found a way to make restitution. Case closed.”

“In Mr. Jones’ case, we were working with him since February to obtain restitution,” Roger said. “We determined he was not acting in good faith, and we filed a criminal complaint.”

Jones, who is already under suspension with the NFL for a conspiracy for disorderly conduct charge, has an uncertain future in the league. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told the media that Jones’ case will be reviewed before training camp, and then the decision will be made whether Jones will be reinstated into the league.

In a nightclub shooting trial in Las Vegas, Jones was a witness and was charge for conspiracy for disorderly conduct, for which he pleaded no contest.
