Ladbrokes Launches New Advertising Campaign in Scandinavia

One of the UK’s leading betting operators, Ladbrokes, has decided to launch another advertising campaign in Scandinavia, following the success of a campaign in 2008.

Although Ladbrokes will be in direct battle with Norwegian and Swedish state owned gaming monopolies, it believes after added awareness from last year, the new campaign will also prove successful.

The Television adverts will run until May on highly viewed channels in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, and will feature actor Ed Stoppard. According to Ladbrokes the ad’s were developed in-house and will be accompanied by print, and radio.

Ed Andrewes, Managing Director of eGaming at Ladbrokes stated that the Nordic region was one of high importance to Ladbrokes, and that the main aim of the campaign is for Ladbrokes to better establish themselves and open up the Scandinavian market to more competition. The Ad’s are intended to inform customers of the prices and range of betting markets available at Ladbrokes.

In a statement coinciding with the launch, Ladbrokes said,” The 2009 campaign focuses on the wide range of betting options available with Ladbrokes and provides a vision for what could be available to consumers in the Nordics were Ladbrokes able to establish a physical presence in the region, something not currently allowed under local monopoly legislation,”
