Ladbrokes launch online poker tournament in Italy

An article in eGaming Review yesterday revealed that one of the biggest names in the gaming industry is set to launch an online poker tournament service in Italy at the start of 2010.
Last year the award winning online bookies launched their sportsbook into the Italian market and have had great success with it and now that they have received their licence from the Italian regulator, they are set to introduce their bingo and casino games into the market as well at some point next year.
The chief executive of Ladbrokes explained, “We are committed to expanding the international reach of our online business and Italy is an excellent regulated market opportunity. We hope that further positive changes in regulations in Italy will allow us to further expand our product range by launching cash games in poker, as well as bingo and casino gaming.”
Ladbrokes have over 35,000 Italian customers and have made it known that they have considered selling its Italian retail business to allow them to spend more time concentrating on reaching their online market. It seems that 2010 will be a very exciting time for Ladbrokes.
