Ladies International Poker Series heads to Peru
12th August, 2008
The Ladies International Poker Series (LIPS) has teamed up with the Pro Poker Challenge of America to provide a series of poker tournaments, one being a women-only event, in Peru.
The events will begin on the 23rd August at the Casino Atlantic City in Miraflores, Peru, and will run through the 1st September. The series will begin with a super satellite where the winners will get their buy in to every tournament.
The series of tournaments will end with the culmination in the form of a main event with a buy in of $1,080, which will be held over two days.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be expanding into Latin America,” said Lupe Soto, LIPS Tour founder. “This is only the beginning of the new type of poker tourism we’ll be able to offer players. Our goal is to create great poker opportunities and amazing venues in which to play the game as well.”
The events will be played between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. so that poker players can have the daylight to see all that Peru has to offer.
Also, Linda Johnson and Jan Fisher will be in attendance at the event as featured guests and will put on a poker seminar during the series.
