9th January, 2009
Las Vegas is having a tough time in the economic recession but many large casinos are considering opening online betting sites. With visitor numbers down and revenues falling, casino managers are looking at ways of improving their marketing campaigns to retain and attract new players.
The benefits of having on online betting site for Las Vegas casinos are obvious. They could attract new players retain existing ones and market the brand. With the success of online gaming in the UK many in the US believe a similar regulated system is achievable.
David Schwartz of the U.N.L.V. Center for Gaming Research said, "Having legal online gaming would really help the strip casinos with their marketing. It would help them find out who is gambling out there,"
Many simply cannot afford to travel to Vegas and casino's now see the threat of online gambling in fact a massive opportunity. Combining both would allow for a wider range of games, promotions and players giving brands such as MGM and Harrah a new relatively cheap to manage business opportunity.
Huge lavish construction projects cost organization's massive amounts and also take years to complete. An online site would be cheap and easy to manage and would also diversify Las Vegas casinos.
