London Olympics online betting odds to be tracked
12th October, 2009

The international Olympic Committee have announced that they will be implementing a new system in order to track and monitor all online sportsbetting in order to spot irregular behaviour in time for the Olympic Winter Games in February.
The international sports monitoring should also be in place for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The International Olympic Committee have also revealed that the Sports Monitoring would receive feeds from betting patterns provided by over 450 odds makers, lotteries and betting firms in order to uncover irregularities for investigation.
The International Olympic Committee was set up for football by FIFA during 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing in order to look out for irregular betting on Olympic competitions. What it found was that although there were a wide variety of bets on offer, most of the wagers made were small with no irregularities.
The IOC noticed that bets were being made upon Olympic games in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and from then soon established rules in 2006 banning those involved with the games from betting.
