Macau Croupier arrested
20th December, 2007
The three men are understood to have stolen the chips worth thousands of HK dollars from a local casino.
It is thought that the croupier would place chips on the table and his accomplice, who was cunningly disguised as a fellow gambler, would pocket the chips.
The casino spotted something was amiss and called the police in at 5am, who arrested the croupier while he was working.
Macau is the gambling hotspot of the Far East and it is riddled with corruption. This is something they are trying to get rid of as it gives the city a bad reputation to gambling companies, investors and tourists. They have a tough on crime stance now and those found to be corrupt are being punished.
