Macau Official on trial

Macau is the biggest and only Chinese legal gambling resort and is also home to some of the biggest names in Las Vegas. It lies about 45 miles west of Hong Kong. the resort has been plagued in corruption and gang warfare, an image it has been trying to shake - this trial will put a dampner on the image Macau is trying to create for itself.
The official, Ao Man-long was arrested late last year and is facing trial for 76 offences which include taking bribes, money laundering and abusing power. He faces a hefty jail term on 25 years if convicted. The trial is the biggest since Portugal handed back Macau to China and it also involves the highest ranking official to be charged.
