Microgaming acquires 3D software
3rd December, 2008
Mircogaming the leading egaming software firm today announced the acquisition of the rights to the 3D software firm Playwize.
Playwize ceased trading in October of this year, reportedly due to “unsustainable losses”. The UK software firm used to provide players with games such as Texas Hold ’Em, Omaha, Five Card Stud and Seven Card Stud in an interactive 3D environment.
The acquisition means that Microgaming will now be adding these games to their existing products, and offering players a wider range and an overall better gaming experience.
Microgaming’s chief executive Roger Raatgever said, “ Microgaming is committed to delivering the latest innovation in gaming software to provide players with an advanced gaming experience.”
Adding, “We are well known for our ability to stay ahead of the competition by providing our operators with the latest thinking, technology and game features. The Playwize acquisition brings advanced 3D functionality to our poker portfolio which will be enjoyed by thousands of players worldwide.”
