Murray, sports personality of the year?

After Murray’s early departure at Wimbledon from losing to Andy Roddick on Friday, his chances of becoming the BBC’s sports personality of the year is threatened. Odds show the Scots tennis star as second at 4/1 from Bet365 to win sports personality of the year.
Instead, F1 driver Jenson Button is the favourite to win the beeb’s award with odds in at 4/7. However, Mark Cavendish is also in with a shot with odds for the Tour De France cyclist in at 16/1.
Last year Olympic cyclist Chris Hoy won the well deserved award. After winning three medals in Beijing he became the first cyclist to win sports personality of the year since Tommy Simpson in 1965.
The show will take place for the very first time in Sheffield on Sunday, December 13th 2009. So place your bets and wait and see which sports star wins the top prize!
