NetPlay TV Sign Deal With ITV For Casino And Bingo Shows

According to an article found on eGaming Review, interactive gaming company, NetPlay TV has signed a deal for six months with ITV1 to broadcast its new Roulette Nation interactive TV show in addition to a new bingo show which will start in May.

The deal is part of a six month trial of teleshopping material following Ofcom reclassifying gambling programming as teleshopping in 2009. This allowed broadcasters to show gambling programming throughout the night.

NetPlay TV’s CEO Martin Higginson said: “This agreement is a huge breakthrough for the company, and whilst the new format has been costly to develop and, is as yet unproven, we believe the potential upside to be significant. We believe transactional TV is here to stay, and we have the ability to deliver a format that works.

The new show interactive bingo show will air from midnight for up to six nights per week for 30 minutes per episode. The Roulette Nation game show which already airs on Virgin 1 and STV will air later on into the night. The company also has a terrestrial TV deal with its Supercasino show with Five.

Controller of TV shopping and gaming at ITV, William van Rest, said: “Soft gaming products such as bingo are extremely popular amongst our audience and we look forward to introducing NetPlay TV’s range of innovative formats to our audience as part of this trial.”

NetPlay has also announced that current business development director Guy Templer is to join the board, in the role of chief operating officer.

Martin Higginson said: “[Guy] has worked incredibly hard over the past few months bringing this deal to a conclusion. He brings with him a wealth of TV experience which will allow us, with his assistance to take our brands to the next stage of their evolution.”
