New Chiefy technology officer joins Betfair

Betfair are one of the most popular new online betting brands offering players a exchange market whereby users place money against each other rather than a bookie.

With most high street bookmakers, customers are betting against the bookie, however Betfair provide a huge exchange market where odds are created by the players themselves.

This often results in far better odds than those found in traditional betting stores or online sites.

The Betfair brand prides itself on high quality innovative games and products which are constantly changing the way consumers traditionally play online. Whether its their casino, sports, poker, financial, arcade or exchange products the site only offers the most technologically advanced software and games.

Tony McAlister will take on the new role of Chief technology officer, managing a team of around 300 specialist staff to hopefully continue improving and enhancing new formats and services Betfair provide for their customers.

David Yu, Chief Executive Officer for Betfair, said in a statement “We are delighted to welcome such an experienced and capable Chief Technology Officer to Betfair"

“I have no doubt that he is the right person to lead our technology strategy, innovation and delivery into the next chapter of our corporate development.”

McAlister told the press, “Betfair has demonstrated its ability to turn technology into a strategic business advantage. I look forward to building on this success in my new role working with a talented global team.”
