WSOP introduce new 40K buy in game

The WSOP is the biggest event in the poker calendar, where online internet players meet traditional casino players. Thousands traveled to Las Vegas in the summer of 2008 to take part in the WSOP events, including a whole host of celebrities who thought they could mix it with the best in the poker world. They couldn't, with names including Matt Damon and Boris Becker exiting in the early rounds!

This years event will see the addition of several new games including a new huge 40K buy in No Limit Texas hold'em game. A total of 57 Gold Bracelets will be up for grabs in the games which take place between May and July.

Last year it was Peter Eastgate who took the main event by storm beating Ivan Demidov in the final table heads up. He left Las Vegas $9.1 million better off and will be the man to beat at this years event.

Numerous tournament games take place the main two being the Main Event and H.O.R.S.E. The main event undoubtedly the biggest attracting several thousands Texas Hold'em fans, however winning the H.O.R.S.E. event is regarded as much more difficult.

H.O.R.S.E. comprises of several different forms of poker including, Texas Hold'em, Omaha and Stud. Winning this proves a poker players worth as they need to be strong at all versions of poker, not just Hold'em.
