Online Betting on the Tri-Nations
16th July, 2009
This weekend, will see the return of international Rugby Union, as the Southern Hemisphere season heats up.
While Northern Hemisphere has their Six Nations, south of the equator, it’s the Tri-Nations. The three giants of international rugby Australia, New Zealand and South Africa do battle for the Tri Nations Trophy.
New Zealand are holders of the title and have won it for the past four years, including the Bledisloe Cup, which is contested between New Zealand and Australia.
It is therefore surprising that New Zealand are not favourites to win the Tri Nations again this year.
Online Bookies make current World Champions South Africa favourites to win the title at 11/8. Although New Zealand are close second priced at 13/8.
The first match this weekend sees Australia travel to Auckland to take on world number one New Zealand. Bookies price the Wallabies at 7/4 underdogs, while the Kiwis are 4/6 favourites.
Both Sky Bet and Paddy Power price New Zealand at 4/9, with Bet365 pricing Austalia at 6/4.
