Online Bingo still going strong
28th November, 2008
According to a report by online bingo comparison site, BingoPort.co.uk, players numbers have increased by around 80% in the past 6 months. Growing economic difficulties have resulted in consumer spending tightening in many industries such as retail and the holiday market.
However the online bingo markets seems to be healthy with many operators and affiliates reporting that players numbers are increasing.
Scott Logan, Director of BingoPort.co.uk, said in a statement,"We have been tracking the UK Online Bingo Industry for over 18 months now and we are starting to see some fascinating and positive trends coming through. We are of course watching the UK and global financial crisis closely, but our data suggests active online bingo player numbers should continue to rise in the foreseeable future."
Playing bingo online has rapidly grown in popularity over the last 4 years with around 3 million consumers playing every year. However the continuing growth was expected by many to slow down due to intense competition as well as the economic climate.
Will this increase in players numbers continue to grow? Well the online bingo industry is currently demonstrating it's resilience and strength, therefore this growth may well will continue throughout the recession.
