Online Bookies Change Odds On British and Irish Lions

The British and Irish Lions managed to cling onto their unbeaten record at the weekend despite a mixed performance. The touring party went into an early lead of 20-0 but later eased pressure on the opposition, only to be outscored 24-6.

Despite a less that convincing display, some online bookmakers have opted to shorten odds on the tourists winning the test series against the South Africa.

Sky Bet, Blue Square, and Bet Internet all make the Lions 2/1 to beat the Spring Bok, however before they play the first test on June 20th, the Lions will play two more games against province teams, Natal Sharks and Western Province.

Former Currie Cup winners Natal Sharks will, be the most difficult match for the Lions so far, who boast international squad players. Though should the Lions win convincingly, online bookies are likely to shorten odds on the tourists even further.

Sky bet price the Lions at 1/10 to win on Wednesday against the Sharks while Betfair makes them 1/100 to beat Western Province on Saturday.

Online betting fans should also note that if the Lions happen to falter on Wednesday, bookies will be shortening odds on South Africa, who are currently priced at 4/11 to win with Bet365.
