Online Casino Revenues Increased Thanks to iPhone
31st March, 2009
The new Apple iPhone seems to be able to do anything, with more and more new downloadable applications becoming available. It now seems they are becoming so advanced, they have been banned from Casino floors.
A new application that allows players to count cards while playing Blackjack has lead to land-based casinos banning the use of iPhones, with some even pressing charges if a player is caught in possession of one.
As a result many people with iPhones have opted to play at online Casinos, in an attempt to beat the system. While it is possible to be caught with a device in a land-based casino, the chances of being caught using the application while playing online are minimal.
This move towards online casinos by iPhone users has lead to an increase in online casino revenues. However whether or not online casino payouts are also increasing remains to be seen.
Veteran Gambler Peter Nicholson said, “The iPhone won’t make a difference to land-based casinos, Casino’s will just ban them. The online casinos are the ones that might be affected, but they too will find some way to stop the use of iPhone’s.”
