Online Poker Room's Live Tournament is a big success

PKR.com ‘s second live tournament event has been hauled – hailed? as a huge success. The event was held at the weekend in London’s Loose Canon Poker Club, and hosted more than 150 of the best online poker players around the world.
According to attendees the tournament had the friendliest atmosphere of any they had even been to before, with a mixture of fun and top class poker.
Roy Houghton, Loose Canon manager said, "I have been in the poker world for 40 years, and have yet to meet a friendlier crowd than the people who came to the Loose Cannon over the weekend."
Mr Houghton also stated that he was not only surprised by the camaraderie, but also the quality of poker being played by competitors, proving PKR.com players are able to transfer their online skill to live situations.
The $75,000 main event was won by 23 year-old Englishman Karl Fenton, who played an almost perfect round of poker to win against online friend and rival Simon Wing.
After his win Mr Fenton thanked organisers and friends saying, "It was definitely one of the best, most enjoyable and most successful weekends of my life, I can't thank all of you guys enough for the cheers and the massive support I received throughout the whole weekend. It was an absolute honour."
PKR Live II was also a debut outing for the new ’Team PKR’, who performed well winning four cash prizes across the three tournaments.
