Online betting odds for Englands World Cup final squad
11th September, 2009

After England’s recent success and with the qualification for the World Cup finals secure, it seems that the next battle is for Capello, as he faces the big decision of picking who will join him in South Africa.
SkyBet have released odds and highlighted which players they think will be left behind and who are the favourites to make up the squad. It seems that out of all players it is the goalkeepers that he will struggle with most as England currently have four lively and highly performing goalkeepers, but it appears that only three will go.
Looking at recent performance and previous squad line ups, David James is certain to be the number one choice for Capello backed at 11/2, with Rob Green following closely behind at 13/8. Ben Foster is playing well at Manchester United so it seems with SkyBet giving him a price of 9/2, that Paul Robinson could be left out of the line up as he is the outsider at 6/4 to make the team.
A spokesperson from SkyBet revealed. “The battle for the gloves is one of several intriguing selection dilemmas facing England and it will be fascinating to see how the odds change in the months leading up to the finals.”
