Online gambling thriving in Vietnam

Online gambling is proving to be extremely popular, both in countries where gambling is legal and also where it is not.
It has been reported that online gambling has become very popular in Vietnam, despite the country’s strict anti-gaming laws.
It seems that online gamblers in Vietnam are staying one step ahead of the authorities thanks to Wifi technology which allows them to place bets at any time or in any place.
A recent report revealed that the most popular online casino was operated by King’s Crown Casino in Cambodia, which is found near the border of South Vietnam’s Tay Ninh Province. It is said that new gamers often ask influential gamblers in the city to introduce them over the phone to the online casino manager in Cambodia. The manager then has employees in Ho Chi Minh City to collect a deposit of at least US$500 to open an account.
The Ministry of Public Security in Vietnam has said that it will launch an investigation into online gambling rings in Vietnam.
Those responsible for organizing and promoting online gambling could face criminal charges.
