32Red.com has announced that they are sponsoring Swansea Football Club for the next two years, with the logo being placed on both home and away shirts.
The deal reverses the trend of clubs being unable to secure sponsorship deals due to the financial climate. Shirt sponsoring is usually the first cost to be axed when trying to save money in hard times.
Leigh Dineen, Swansea’s vice chairman was delighted to secure the deal with premiership club Aston Villa’s previous sponsor.
“It shows how far the club has come,’’ explained Dineen. “32Red were talking to a number of other football clubs, including some in the Premiership, about shirt sponsorship; but we are delighted to become their chosen partners in football. We are now a Championship club with a Premiership sponsor – and that’s something we are very proud of.”
The deal is exciting and potentially lucrative for 32Red.com, with the club constantly reminding football fans of the gaming website. The club will be announcing initiatives on the link for its official website on July 1.
