PKR Live II a Success
29th April, 2009
PKR.com is well known for its revolutionary and unique poker gaming format. Players can take part in 3D games and also choose their physical apperance, dress code, behavior and personality.
Even though the playing at PKR is as close to the real thing, the site have recently begun holding live events allowing players to meet up for a real game of poker. PKR Live II has been hailed a success after being held at the Loose Cannon Poker Club last weeks.
150 of PKR's finest turned up for the event, which showed the friendship and community aspect of the website could be taken outside in the real world.
Loose Cannon manager, Roy Houghton said, "I have been in the poker world for 40 years, and have yet to meet a friendlier crowd than the people who came to the Loose Cannon over the weekend.”
$75,000 was up for grabs in the main event, and was won by Karl 'discomonkey' Fenton. He commented on his win, saying, “It was definitely one of the best, most enjoyable and most successful weekends of my life, I can’t thank all of you guys enough for the cheers and the massive support I received throughout the whole weekend. It was an absolute honour.”
