Paddy Power combats underage gaming
18th June, 2009
Irish gambling operator Paddy Power has announced the introduction of NetIDme software during the registration process at the site. The move is to combat underage and fraudulent gamblers for both major sporting events and day to day business activities.
The NetIDme software is developed by Scots and is capable of verifying customers in just six hours from initial sign up by accessing over 800million records which includes the electoral role and by doing fraud checks with Address Verification Systems (AVS).
NetIDme’s chief operating officer, Peter McCudden, said, "Remote gambling is a growing market in the UK and internationally, and Paddy Power is a big win for us as we'll be the main provider for all sporting events."
The software was trialed during the Cheltenham festival in March. Results were favourable allowing Paddy Power to increase confirmed identities by nearly 10%, thus saving time and money on lengthy follow up calls by customer service staff.
“NetlDme offered us a solution that was easy to implement, matched our requirements and allowed us to increase our match rate by 10 percent” said Ronan Wall, Paddy Power.
