EGR have revealed that they have shortlisted the top four companies who are in with a chance of winning one of the most respected awards in the online gaming industry. The chosen online bookies are, Betfair, Ladbrokes, William Hill and Paddy Power. The four operators are set to battle it out for the Operator of the Year trophy that will be presented at the EGR Live conference that takes place next month.

eGaming Review reports that Betfair has been nominated for the award due to its outstanding success in the online betting market, accounting for a quarter of the UK’s online sports betting market. In addition to this, Betfair have continued to up the antis with recent sponsorship deals with several football clubs as well as developing their innovative contributions releasing an iPhone application, all within the last year!

Ladbrokes have impressed the industry both offline and online, with superior loyalty programmes as well as gaining exclusive coverage and access to some of the biggest sporting events this year. To compliment this, Ladbrokes has invested considerable amounts of time and money into advertising to help combine both offline and online customers and continue to strengthen the brand name to punters.

William Hill has sponsored dozens of events throughout the year, even showing their support for those events that hold a smaller market share helping to build up the interest and increase the betting stakes. Also, strongly in their favour, William Hill increased the competition by forming a partnership with Playtech and launching its new sportsbook which proved a massive hit with the punters!

Paddy Power may be the weakest in the running, but has had yet another successful year, promoting heavily their niche market of novelty betting and has managed to set itself in stone in the running for this award. Paddy Power never fail to please their audience with their generous money back offers and refunds to make sure punters can play more for less. As well as all this, Paddy Power also had the time to release an extremely successful TV advertising campaign and it is almost certain that this has contributed to their money filled year.

It seems that for a new entry, Paddy Power look set to steal the title in this year’s awards. To read the full story, please visit eGaming Review for all the details and when the winner will be announced.
