Gambling on Britain's coolest man
11th December, 2008
Men's weekly entertainment magazine, Zoo, will be crowning one British male the coolest of them all on the 17th December. But who is favourite to win this years award?
Many of you maybe thinking how to become the coolest man in Britain. Well, celebrity status is a must, you need to be known by the masses, loved by the public and idolized by thousands. Easy, isn't it.
You need to be fashionable (unless you're John Sargent) and ideally have a famous wife or partner. Also important is you're profession with cctors, Sports personalities and Musicians usually most likely to win the award.
Then the next prerequisite for being 'cool' is to be successful in you're profession. No one likes a loser and the favourites have all excelled in their field finding fame, glory and popularity.
So here's a quick look at a few of the favourites:
Lewis Hamilton:The kids got everything. One of the best jobs ( F1 driver), a pussycat doll girlfriend, world championship and plenty of the green stuff. His unbelievable win in Brazil a few months ago showed how cool this cat really is and paddy power price him at 10/11 to take this years title.
Daniel Craig:Want to be one of the coolest blokes on earth? Simple really, just become James Bond. Craig has taken on his new role as the fearless 007 agent and is doing a damn good job of it as well. Certainly a strong contender for winning this years title! 8/1 to win.
Ricky Hatton:
Ricky destroyed Paulie Malignaggi last month in a impressive display at Madison Gardens showing his still on of the top pound for pound fighters in the world. Why is he so cool though? Well he's a people's person, who hasn't let the fame go to his head like many of the other nominees. He still lives at home in Manchester, goes to the same greasy spoons and is the Rocky of sporting figures. 10/1 to win.
John Sargent
Yes, that's right. Sargent has become a legendary figure in the British public after chucking out some awkward shapes on the Strictly Come dancing dance floor. Fan's of his dancing efforts voted to keep him in the competition for several weeks, until he decided to quit the competition last month. Sargent's moves will live long in the memory of viewers and have now turned him into a national Icon. May not be an obvious choice but paddy power see him as a dark horse pricing him at 12/1.
