Pensioner Couple win Euro Millions Jackpot
16th June, 2009
Yesterday we brought you the story about Friday’s Euro Millions being won by a UK resident. Well it was revealed late yesterday evening that the Lucky winners were Mr and Mrs Caswell from Bolton.
Brain Caswell aged 74, bought the ticket last week, continuing the couple’s weekly tradition of playing the Euro Millions. It is believed the pair have been playing the game every week since 2004, but it was on Saturday Mr Caswell discovered he had won, making him the third biggest lottery winner.
According the neighbours the pair were driven away in a limousine yesterday before reporters could descend on them at their three bedroom house in the Greater Manchester area.
Angela Kelly from East Kilbride became the UK’s biggest lottery winner in August 2007 when she won £35.4 million, and the second highest lottery win belongs to an anonymous ticket holder who won £26.5 million in the same month.
Mr and Mrs Caswell’s neighbour, Therese Ball, later stated “I don't know what they will do but I don't think there is much they need. It is a bit late to uproot, they have a lot to think about."
