Peter Pan Invests in Casino Development
10th January, 2008
The president of the Peter Pan’s bus company, Peter Picknelly, has signed up to be a sponsor for the casino development company. He will be joined in this project by the developer Leon Dragone as well as the Connecticut-based Mohegan Indian tribe that is planning to build a $1 billion casino in the Western Massachusetts town of Palmer.
Dragone’s northeast realty has a 35-acre site on the New Bedford warterfront in their possession.
Deval Patrick, the governor, has suggested 3 resort casinos to be built, but the plans are still awaiting legislative approval.
It has not been revealed so far how much financing will be invested by Picknelly, who stated that if carried out as planned, casinos should give a huge boost to the ridership of Springfield-based Peter Pan, which runs buses to Connecticut, Atlantic City and Montreal casinos.
