Philippines students Protest against gambling

Philippine students staged a protest at the site of the yet to be Emaja Internet Gaming Enterprises in the first half of this week.
The operator of the gambling site on the horizon, Emmanuel Jacinto of Barangay Salapungan, said that demonstrations created a huge misunderstanding about the proximity of the site to school.
According to the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCor), online casinos cannot be closer than 200 meters of a school and church. The site which is prepared for the online casino operator is 206 meters away from the school and therefore complies with the regulations.
The protestors disrupted the traffic and the operator’s plans, without findin gout that the online operator to be has already received permission from PAGCo.
'Our business is legal and we do not violate any laws,' said the operator, Jacinto.
The police said to have been keeping the situation under control to prevent any unpleasant happenings.
